2013,Post-Apocalyptic America. An unnamed wanderer retrieves a Postman's uniform and undelivered bag of mail. He decides to pose as a postman and deliver the mail to a nearby town, bluffing that the United States government has been reinstated and tricking the town into feeding him. However, he reluctantly becomes a symbol of hope to the townspeople there who begin to remember the world that once was and giving them the courage to stand up to a tyrannical warlord and his army. A nameless drifter dons a postman's uniform and bag of mail as he begins a quest to inspire hope to the survivors living in post-apocalyptic America. The fact that I watched it while channel surfing, I guess, says something. It wasn't so completely terrible as to turn it off. Maybe it was like watching a train wreck.

I suppose as an idea - maybe it was interesting. So I wanted to watch it through to see how bad it really was or wasn't.

Whatever happened to the guy we knew from Bull Durham, Field of Dreams and No Way Out?

Costner reminds me now of Ed Wood with a larger budget. He's just trying to darn hard to make the next great epic film - and failing miserably. "The Postman" is a movie I have avoided for years. For two reasons. The post-apocalyptic theme is the first reason and the second is the bad reputation that is attached to this movie. After having seen this movie I can honestly say that this movies deserves a lot more. Especially if you compare it to movies with similar themes. If you compare this to "Waterworld" than "The Postman" is a big improvement in storytelling and character development. I do have a hunch why most viewers didn't like this movie. And that is the lack of action. With a movie that is 3 hours long you expect a lot to happen. And a lot does happen only on a complete another level. The story in fact is very simple. (SPOILER!) In the gloomy dark world there is someone who appears who gives hope to people. (END SPOILER) The moment you get introduced to the bad guy you expect Costner to take him on and rebel against him. And he does so only not in the way he did in "Waterworld". As heroes go he takes a more realistic approach. This doesn't mean there is no action to be enjoyed, there is just enough. But probably nearly not enough to satisfy the viewer who expected some serious action scenes a la Mad Max. To me "The Postman" is a very moving drama that has a theme that is universal even when this movie seems to be a bit patriotic. (But I believe that Costner just made an example of what have could been any other country in similar situation). Overall this movie offers a very positive look on humanity which is refreshing to see especially considering the genre. The Postman isn't as atrocious as the inane trailers and media hype have indicated, but like "Waterworld" a lot of the prerelease scrutiny is well warranted. Aside from condensing storylines, the film also eliminates a number of characters and science fiction elements from the story. A significant plotline in the book is the efforts of scientists at Corvallis, Oregon to use an artificially intelligent supercomputer to help rebuild society. Similarly, in the book the leaders of the Holnists are super soldiers who were experimented on by the military in order to augment their strength and speed. The film also eliminates the "Squire of Sugarloaf" a leader of a local community who the Postman tries to enlist to help in the fight against the Holnists 1998. 15 years earlier. The film is set in 2013. Yes. It would had gone stale and rotten, after being uneaten for many years and it would had made The Postman really sick. No. Days of Our Lives and Monday Night Football was in The Postman's mind. Michael had the viral disease Mumps since he was 12 years old, which is a common childhood disease and causes a rare permanent loss of fertility in adult males. Yes he did. 2 years earlier, Kevin Costner starred as The Mariner in 1995's Waterworld. Yes. Lily Costner is Irene March's granddaughter Lily. Joe Costner is the Letter Boy, whom The Postman takes his letter, when riding past his house and Annie Costner is Ponytail, the US postal service carrier, whom finds The Postman and Abby and brings them to the US postal service HQ. Abby mentions that when she was Bethlehem's prisoner, he tried several times to rape her. However, he couldn't "perform". This may suggest that he was actually homosexual, but was desperate to try and father an heir, despite him not being attracted to women. It's also possible he was simply impotent. As he blames Abby and beats her for his lack of arousal. a5c7b9f00b Love Lies telugu full movie downloadA Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars full movie download mp42nd Annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: Round Two - Part One full movie online freeTough Assignment tamil dubbed movie torrentThe The Old Pistolerofree download Episode 1.222Wanted in hindi 720pThe LA Countythe Swear by Apollo downloadThe Fugitive full movie 720p download
